Northern Lights on Food 3D Image Analysis Hackathon

Northern Lights on Food 3D Image Analysis Hackathon

Northern Lights on Food - 3D Image Analysis Hackaton

Outline

Food scientists with 3D data challenges will meet image visualisation and image quantification experts from QIM, Lund University and RISE to work together to establish a plan how to visualise, quantify and interpret the scientific content in their 3D images. In addition to identifying solutions and analysis approaches, establishing continuing collaborations is a usual outcome after 2 days of sitting working closely together.

Target audience

Food Scientists working with x-ray or neutron imaging who would like to learn more about 3D image analysis and/or would like help with image analysis challenges to extract details from their 3D data

Pre-requisites

Each food scientist participant should come with their own 3D x-ray or neutron tomography data to analyse during the hackathon. To help us prepare and also, in the event of over-subscription, to select participants, please provide a short description of the data and the scientific questions that you are trying to answer with the data (what would you like to extract from the images).

- 1 page including an image illustrating the data challenge. (If you are interested in participating, but do not yet have 3D imaging data of your sample, please contact Stephen Hall to see if it is possible to acquire data before the event)
